Smartphones are improving our memory skills and how tech is saving heritage in Ukraine. We have good news from this past week and we need to tell you about it.
Smartphones are making us better at remembering things
We all know that we rely on our smartphones way too much. But did you know that they’re actually making us better at remembering things?
A new study has found that people who use their smartphones to store information are better at recalling that information than those who don’t. The study, which was conducted by the University of California, found that people who use their smartphones as a “memory aid” are better at recalling information than those who don’t.
The study’s authors say that this is because using a smartphone to store information frees up our “working memory”, which is the part of our brain that stores information for short-term recall. This means that we can remember more information for longer periods of time.
So, the next time someone tells you that you’re too reliant on your smartphone, just tell them that you’re actually making yourself smarter.
How tech is saving heritage in Ukraine
Ukraine is a country with a rich history and culture. But, like many countries, it is facing the threat of losing its heritage due to war and conflict.
However, a group of Ukrainian volunteers are using technology to help preserve their country’s heritage. The group, called “Digitization of Memory”, is using 3D scanning and printing to create replicas of historical artifacts that have been damaged or destroyed.
The group has already created replicas of a number of artifacts, including a statue of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and a medieval sword. They hope that their work will help to preserve Ukraine’s heritage for future generations.
